Event: Festival in the QuarryVenue: Old Town Quarry Queens Road

This event promises to be a very lively affair offering something for everyone. In the Craft Village there will be 12 stalls displaying goods which will include, jewellery making, sugar craft, silk painting, felt making, stained glass, gifts made from wood, quilting, card making, children’s garments, soap making, glass painting, oriental jewellery and gifts, hand crafted ornaments. Some stallholders will be demonstrating their crafts. There will be secret rooms containing Crafty Monkey’s paint your own Pottery Studio, make your own badge, face painting, the RSPB armed with telescopes and binoculars ready to tell you all about the wonderful bird life in the quarry and a small secluded picnic area.
Close by Nathan Bennett will be demonstrating his blacksmith’s skills.
Weston Lions are providing a beer and wine tent; there will be a pig roast, an ice cream van and a sweet shop. Tea, coffee and homemade cakes will be available.
A highlight of this event will be performances on a specially constructed stage, by several groups of Street dancers, Belly dancers, , a Glee Choir from Barcode ,the St John’s Ambulance Avon County Concert band
We hope that the resident Quarry Artists will open their studios to the public. The Bleadon Photographic Society will have an exhibition of their wonderful work in the quarry café
Admission £1 for adults and children over 16
